Life as a Washingtonian

So…it’s been a while hasn’t it? I’ve been having a boring week this past week so there was no inspiration to update this thing. I was telling myself “alright, not tonight but tomorrow!” Tomorrow never came… until TODAY!

This will be another run through similar to the last post because honestly…nothing too exciting happened. I haven’t used my Nikon since Memorial Day, so anything will be random shots I thought I’d capture with my camera phone. Yayy camera phones. (Did you sense the sarcasm in that? Yea? I’ll try better next time).

Now, stop making ridiculously insane statements about the looming zombie apocalypse an check out my life as a Washingtonian.

—Recap photos!—

Target Visit. How can they be “egg substitute” but made with “real egg.”
Dat don’t make no sense!!!

Memorial Day! Lookin good.

Wrist bite… *super exaggerated exhale*

Tuesday, May 29th- I did my hair!!!

Today, was day 2 after my curled hair. Yay! I think it worked out alright.

At NGT, I found out that Friday is Green Friday. That means that it’s only a 3 day work week! Can you believe it! It’s hilarious. My first week was 5 days long, my second was 4, and my third week is 3! Haha! Perhaps… and just PERHAPS… next week will be only 2! Doubt it, though….

At work I just continued to work on the asteroid information sheet. I’m pretty ready for that project to be completed!

———– Thursday, May 31, 2012 ———-

Today is Bill’s last day. It’s pretty sad! The peeps of NGT typically have softball after work, but I wasn’t notified about today being an actual softball day until today… so could I go? Wearing heels? Of course not! There was going to be a celebration at the Exchange afterward, but that’s a ‘saloon.’ Will I be able to get in? Prolly not. Did I try? No… save myself the embarrassment.

Anyway, I am done with the asteroid research, yay! I started working intensely on writing the proposal for PBS. Alex says he’ll finish it over the weekend. I also worked on some narration and that was about it.

Oh OH! I almost forgot that we had an “intern meet and greet.” We were able to meet other interns that were working in the building.  We will be having lunches every Thursday to talk with exec and other people in the Society. That’s kind of exciting. John, my ‘boss’, will be leading one of those lunches so I’m WICKED excited about that.

The TV went out today. The earliest they can come fix it is Monday at 4pm.

No pictures today… sorry for being boring.

Today I took an adventure to get some last minute things from Target. I GOTTA stop going there.

First, I’m gonna go to Whole Foods to get some veggie foods! Yay! Vegetarianism!

Coconut water variety at WFM. Wow… am in I de heven?

My favorite section!! All things vegetarian/vegan.

Okay, I couldn’t get the whole building, I was holding a lot of stuff. Including food that I was going to eat for lunch! I got mac-and-cheese and tofu! Lots of tofu. ’twas good.

Whole Foods Market from the side.

I made a pizza when I got home!
Made with Mediterranean bread and veggie chicken! Yummmmm.

Nothing else really happened today. The TV is still out so I’ve just been watching Supernatural. Loads and loads of Supernatural.

The headphones I bought from Target are NO GOOD. I had to exchange them. I got some purple earphones from T-mobile. They sound great!

I saw this on my walk back home. It’s pretty cute. Be a good daddy today! You hear that, dad? The Ad Council is watching!

Nothing else happening today… being boring. Being alone. The usual.

———- Sunday, June 3, 2012 ———-

There was a confirmation service today during mass lead by the Aux. Bishop of Washington. Mass was about 1 hour and 45 min long. It wasn’t too bad though.

I’m gonna have to get firm with Kevin, though… he waited for me to leave outside of the doors and would not leave me alone. *sigh*

I wanted to go outside today. Being outside makes me happy. So… I did it!

After sitting on the stair and realizing I got a bug bite ALREADY… I bought a citronella candle from CVS. Besides…me has a yard chair, I can sit on the porch!

It already improved my mood drastically. New plan from now on! Go outside when it’s bright out!! I left the screen window open to my apt and it let warmth in.

So, that’s that! That was basically my week. Not too eventful. I need to make a commitment to take my Nikon camera around and be more like a tourist! We’ll see what I come up with.
