Life as a Washingtonian

This is the second part of my update! Yays!

———- Wednesday, June 20 2012 ———-

Here is the rest of the sign I always pass by on my way to work!

Today  I went down to hang out in the digital studio!
I was mostly doing the slate/clapper before each scene. Super exciting…

Everyone is really nice and funny down there but it is always freezing! They have to keep it cold because they lighting equipment gets super hot.The show they are filming is something that coincides with a textbook teaching english as a second language to young children. Today was the American recording, tomorrow will be 1/2 American and 1/2 UK, and Friday will be 100% UK. Cool stuff!

Jason Orfanon is the director for the show.

Here he is wearing some props from today’s episode. Pretty Funny.

While waiting around, I searched for internships and a really cool eco-retail business needs a graphic design intern. It would be GREAT if I could get that internship. They emailed me back saying they wanted to meet, but I’m in DC I can’t go to NY right now! I’ll email them again on Monday to say I am still very interested in speaking with them…etc. 🙂 Wicked.

*~*~* Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!!! *~*~*

I am very happy that you two were married this day in Guyana!

More clapping at the studio. Not much else happened…oh! I searched for internships and applied for some more. I did a lot more recipe hunting for my Pinterest account. I have decided that it is a visually appealing way to display the recipes that have been cluttering my bookmarks. 🙂
Hooray for summer cleaning!

We had our first intern luncheon, John- my boss, and Pam, a NGT Series EP, spoke and showed us some of their teasers for a few shows they made. Cool beans.

On the way home, I saw this cool advert by the busstop today. Wicked.

Even MORE clapping at the studio. It was my last day though.

Our second Intern lunch was today. It was with Maryanne Culpepper, the president of NGT. Very cool.

I was able to leave work early today since they finished before schedule in the studio. I”m glad I did because it was monsooning outside about and hour after I got home.

I went to the laundromat today. It went well! I mean.. besides carrying the loads there on a 10 min walk, but the place is nice and clean. The owner was there the whole time so I didn’t feel vulnerable. That was good!

My clothes are a dryin’!!

Before I washed my clothes I went to Bed,Bath and Beyond and Target to get some stuff for carrying my laundry. At BB&B, the shelves were INSANELY neat.

I’m not sure if I would want to work there… I think I would get lost. And then if someone asked, where can I find the type of object that does this thingy? I would say… “Ma’am/Sir, I has NO idea.”

It’s Sunday again! Yayys. I went back to St. Gabriel’s. I’m glad that I did. I didn’t see Kevin which was great! I walked back to the shopping center and hung out there for a bit. Now, I’m at my apartment watching Criminal Minds. I will be updating my website with some more photographs so check that that too!

Hope you enjoyed my postings! We will chat again soon, my love!
