I have a new blog design! Woot! I think it’s pretty interesting. Change is good, yes?

So, this is my second to last week here in D.C. Can’t believe I will not be a Washingtonian/District of Columbian in two weeks. *sigh… But that’s alright! I’m ready for some summer vacation. Who’s with  me??

Let’s just sit back, relax, and check out the second to last week of my life as a Washingtonian.

Not much going on today. Just finishing the filing project and conforming a script. Dat’s about it!

It’s Park-Your-Moped-Outside-NGS Day! (If you are curious… it’s an unofficial holiday. haha.)

I heard that there is another screening with PBS EP, Beth tomorrow (at least that’s what they are aiming for).
Today, I spent most of the day working on the script to make sure it matches the latest fine cut.

It’s after work and I’m just taking the regular stroll down Mst to the bus. This mirrored building is always here and whenever I look into it to see myself… I trip on one of the concrete slabs that is uneven. The proof is that while this photo was being taken.. I tripped. Success! (or failure… depending on how you look at it!)

Are you looking for a ride instead of the taking the bus? Call George! He’s looking to pick you up. He’s safe and reliable.. according to this sheet of paper at the bus stop. Who’s calling George tonight?!

The truck in the distance was driven by a woman who was dancing and singing “The Wobble.” As she drove by, and I was waiting at the bus stop. She screamed “GET IN ‘DER! YEA YEA! GET IN ‘DER!” I had no idea what she was yelling at me and it was completely startling.

I have a dentist appointment today, so work will be cut a few hours short. That’s the plan at least.

View to the right of the dentist chair…

View in front. Yay.. shots

Only problem… after I waited for 1.5 hours in the waiting room on a day when the office isn’t even open, I was allowed to go into the chair in the back. Then, after an hour wait in the chair… Maria, the receptionist/financial/I really don’t know what her job is person, came in the room apologizing that they “made me wait all this time for nothing.” She forgot to order something for the procedure and so she said we have to reschedule for Friday morning.

Happy days.

Dentist appointment tomorrow! Luckily, it’s a Green Friday so I will not be missing another day of work. Doing laundry tomorrow would be great also because most people will be at work. So… I needed to get some cash, but there are no M&F Banks here in D.C. So… I went to CVS and bought something so I could get cash back. Look what I got! Haha. Cotton swabs for $0.67!

Today was a softball game, we found an awkward spot near the monument… but the sun was RIGHT in our faces. Haha. A thought popped into my head. There are no pictures of me in D.C… only pictures I have taken in D.C. I need to fix that!

The sun is hiding behind a flurry of clouds.

The monument as the sun begins to set.

So… follow me on this journey. We are heading to the dentist. It’s 8:20 in the morning, the appointment is 8:30am.  We started walking at 8:00 am so we are almost there! After chatting with mom for a while, another call comes in. We answer.

SURPRISE! It’s Maria and they are cancelling your dentist appointment saying they need to refer you to someone else. Blah blah…

What a load of bologna!

Since I did laundry yesterday… today I did NOTHING!!

——— Sunday, July 29, 2012 ———

And so it’s Sunday again… Today was my last day at St. Gabriel’s Church. I enjoyed it, dearly. I decided that I will go to the gorgeous Catholic Church by my job next week. I’d like to see what mass is like there.

After church, I went to a restaurant for lunch! This was the first time I sat down and ordered food in a restaurant since I’ve been in D.C. Independence… here I am!

The name of the restaurant is Sala Thai. Let’s go there sometime!

I ordered the Dragon Roll. It was DELICIOUS! Tempura shrimp, avocado, cucumber and eel. It was a good lunch… a very good lunch.

So now, I’m just crashing at the apt! After church, but before lunch, I stopped by CVS and picked up some snacks. All is beautiful.
Hope all is well with you! I love you, dearly.
