It’s been a while since I have posted something… but I have new-found energy to continue!
Right now, I am just thinking about that moment when we feel our spirits balanced with the rest of the universe. It is fleeting, but don’t you enjoy that? Typically, I feel it at the every beginning and the very end of a vinyasa yoga session. If you have not had the opportunity to feel this, then you should try it. Try it right now!
An Exercise in Relaxation.
Calming your body and reconnecting with your inner spirit.
Turn off the noise, sit down comfortably and close your eyes.
Now, take few deep breaths… As you breathe, try to focus on the air particles moving into your body filling every inch your lungs and the then rushing out of your mouth as you exhale.
Forget what lead you to the place where you are now. Forget about what you will be doing after this exercise… only focus on the now. Your body, your spirit. Right here. Right now.
Keep breathing deeply and try to feel every inch of your body only using your mind. Relax and focus. Relax your toes, relax your ankles, relax your legs… working all the way up to the top of your head. Relax your jaw, relax your eyelids. Let your eyes close and be heavy.
Focus and feel your heart beating within you. It is our engine, keeps us going.
Breathe in the calm for a few moments, until you feel your body release.
Did you feel that?
When I do this exercise, I feel as though I can sense my spirit balancing with the rest of the universe, at least for a brief second. Did you? Do not feel insignificant in the grand scheme of things…You’re not! It is quite the contrary to what we are often told. Our bodies, our minds, our spirits and our energies are important and contribute the the total energy of our world. Remember that.
